Haiti

Immediately after the Haiti earthquake, we knew we had to do something. So we created a Haiti Disaster Relief Fundraiser at my father’s restaurant, Khalil’s II. We had it all planned, music, food, speakers who work in Haiti, international dancers from 5 different countries, and IOCC was going to help us, and because it was a disaster, the monies received would be multiplied by 7 times – so a $20 ticket would end up as a donation of $140. It was all set. Ready to go. Then the Snowmagedden happened. Cars were skidding all over, it was dangerous. One by one, the dancers reluctantly cancelled. Nick Chakos (one of the IOCC reps) managed to brave the danger and bring his entire family with him. By the grace of God, we got a descent crowd and was able to donate a nice amount to the suffering in Haiti. Friday Feb. 5th. http://hellos.com/haiti/
